Single and satisfied, say Japanese in sex and marriage survey

A survey by the Japanese Government has found record numbers of young people are choosing not to have a girlfriend or boyfriend.
The Government’s interest in people’s private lives stems from a low birth rate and aging population putting a strain on society. So, every five years they survey attitudes towards sex and marriage. The latest figures suggest 61 per cent of unmarried men aged 18-34 don’t have a partner, with about half the nation’s unmarried women in the same category. More than a quarter of unmarried men and women aged 35-39 say they have never had sex.
