A strike of 2 million public sector workers in Britain has closed schools and brought councils and hospitals to a virtual standstill…

The strike by more than 30 unions over cuts to public sector pensions – started at midnight local time – is the biggest stoppage in more than 30 years… as hundreds of marches and rallies are taking place in cities and towns across the country.

It’s latest round of austerity measures introduced by the Cameron government to reign in Britain’s debt and avert a worsening fiscal outlook in the country.
