In Syria, it’s being reported that 70,000 people took to the streets of Homs on Tuesday, the scene of deadly clashes between security forces and opposition protesters just days before.

This latest protest happened as a delegation of Arab League observers were in the city as part of an effort to implement a peace plan which has been signed with the Syrian Government. That plan stipulates an end to violence against civilians. But there’s been scepticism over whether the will be able to effectively enforce it.

Phil Kafcaloudes spoke to Abdul Omar, coordinator of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Presenter: Phil Kafcaloudes

Speaker: Abdul Omar, coordinator of UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights
