Elcho Island artists exhibit in Malaysia for the first timeAudio Icon

Indigenous artists from Elcho Island in North East Arnhem Land in Australia are exhibiting for the very first time in Malaysia in an exhibition called ‘Living Art from Ancient Land’.

The exhibition will feature twenty artworks by five of Elcho Island Arts’ leading artists and will take place at The Shalini Ganendra Fine Art Gallery, an independent exhibition and cultural space in Kuala Lumpur, which has particular focus on emerging regions and movements.

‘Living Art from Ancient Land’ will showcase a range of mediums including bark paintings, prints and soft sculpture and will feature renowned artists such as Peter Datjin, Margaret Gudumurrkuwuy and Megan Yunupingu.
