Plastic surgery restores confidence in TongaAudio Icon

Plastic surgery is not just about cosmetic procedures. For many, it can restore mobility, improve eating and social interaction without discomfort.

An Australian team of surgeons is in Tonga this week to treat people affected by conditions like burns scarring, tumours, cleft and lip palates. They will also provide training for local health professionals at Vaiola Central Hospital. One of the surgeons, James Leong spoke to Clement Paligaru after his first round of consultations and procedures.
