Mexico on verge of civil war says author

As mass murders resulting from Mexico’s drug wars continue unabated the government looks increasingly powerless to control the situation.

El Narco is a comprehensive account of the drug wars written by Ioan Grillo, a British journalist who’s been covering the story for fifteen years.

He tells Phil Kafcaloudes that the civilians of Mexico are now being caught up in the cross fire on a regular basis and says the country is on the brink of a full-scale civil war.
