The Solomon Islands Health Ministry has announced that the Pacific Arts Festival Village in Honiara will be a smoke-free zone.
Dr. Cedrick Alependava from the Solomon Islands Ministry says the policy is in line with the Solomon Islands Tobacco Control Bill, which was passed in Parliament in 2010, and is expected to be implemented in two to three months.
It is expected that more than 2,000 officials and participants will be in Honiara for what is the region’s premier arts and cultural event.
Presenter: Heather Jarvis
Speaker: Dr. Cedrick Alependava, Under-Secretary Health Improvement, Solomon Islands Ministry of Health.
