Solomon Islanders seeking green yachties

Does the remoteness of an island group in a Pacific country necessarily ensure its environment is pristine and abundant in marine resources? It seems not, if a call out by the the Reef Islands community in the Solomons is anything to go by.
Communities there are hoping sailors passing by will be able to help them set up marine protected areas. So they’ve enlisted the help of OceansWatch International, an organisation with an extensive network of sailors and yachties committed to conservation.
Presenter: Clement Paligaru
Speakers: Lawrence Nodua, community elder, Reef Islands, Solomon Islands ; Chris Bone, OceansWatch
