Emerging Pacific artists from New Zealand examine the Western romantic idea of Pacific paradise in The Anatomy of Paradise. The exhibition now showing at Auckland Artstation challenges well entrenched stereotypes and artistic representation of the South Pacific and explores modern Pacific identity.
It features works by photographer Tanu Gago, performance artists Nastashia Simeona-Apelu and Kalisolaite ‘Uhila, multi-media artists Ahilapalapa Rands, Vaimaila Urale and Darcell Apelu.
