Triumphant victory for PNG cricket team

Papua New Guinea’s national cricket team’s recent victory over a Melbourne club is the latest indication that the sport is on the ascendancy in the rugby mad country.
PNG beat the Hawthorn Cricket Club with a nail biting finish to the challenging fifty-over game.The match was a part of a charity cricket day which collected donations of used cricket equipment to send back to PNG where it is hoped the game can be developed further.
Radio Australia’s Nadia Hume caught up with players, spectators and officials at the match.
