The Beatles Rock Band Game (MTV/Harmonix)
Everything is Fab in the Tech Stream this week. We’re in Port Moresby for PacInet 2009, a Pacific internet conference; all the latest on the week’s iPod and iTunes updates from Apple; and Bajo straps on his little plastic guitar for a review of the highly anticipated Beatles Rock Band video game. Listen via the MP3 link above or keep jumping for more details…
Technology journalist and Radio Australia regular Danny Gorog joins us first for the latest from Apple’s “Rock and Roll” event this week, including news on the new iPod Nano which now records video and a refurb of the iTunes store.
The PacInet 2009 conference is organised by the Pacific Islands Chapter of the Internet Society (PICISOC). It took place this year in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and I spoke with Andrew Molivurae, one of the organisers and a board member of PICISOC, about this years event. We also meet some participants: Save Vocea the Australasia/Pacific Islands Liaison with ICANN and Neville Unduka, IT manager at the PNG Education Institute in Port Moresby.
We then have some news headlines, including this great story about Winston the pigeon who flies faster than broadband. Stay up to date with daily technology headlines at twitter.com/tech_stream.
And we finish with Bajo from Good Game on ABC TV here in Australia. He got his mits on the new Beatles Rock Band game this week which allowed us to bond over how much we love the music of the fab four. Don’t know much about The Beatles? ABC Online has this timeline and Beatles historian Mark Lewisohn spoke with ABC Adelaide about the recent remastering of their catalog.
